The exclusive right to use that name for the period you pay for. Nobody "owns" a domain outright — every registrar in the world rents them from the registry that runs the extension. What matters is that the registration is in your name, and it is: you are the registrant, we are only the registrar on record.
The .uk family is run by Nominet, the UK registry, and works to its own rules. The one that catches people out: there is no auth or EPP code. Moving a .uk elsewhere is done by changing its Nominet tag, not by pasting a code. We explain that properly rather than leaving you to discover it mid-transfer.
Not by our doing. The register and renew columns in the table above come from the same source and are almost always the same number. Registries do occasionally raise their own wholesale fees — when that happens we tell you before it hits your invoice, we do not simply pass it through quietly.
For a gTLD like .com: unlock it at your current registrar, get the auth code, and paste it into the Transfer tab above. For a .uk: ask your current registrar to change the Nominet tag — no code involved. Either way the remaining time on your registration comes with you, and a transfer adds a year.
Yes. A domain here is a standalone product. You can point it anywhere you like with the DNS editor, or leave it parked until you need it. There is no bundle you have to buy to keep it.
We chase you first — several reminders before the date, and again after. Past expiry most extensions have a redemption period where recovery is still possible but the registry charges a substantial fee. Nominet .uk domains have a particularly long grace window. Ask us early rather than late.
Where the registry allows it, yes, at no extra cost. Some registries publish certain fields regardless of what any registrar does — .uk, for instance, treats non-trading individuals differently from businesses. We apply privacy wherever it is actually available rather than charging for it as an add-on.
